New Year's Eve!!!

Today's morning plan was to take the kids over to see Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis.  There is an area you can park, and walk across the Dam.   Unfortuantely when we arrived we discovered the walkway was closed due to Sept. 11th.

Instead, we drove under the freeway and took some pictures of of the dam from a distance.

This dam provides electrical power to much of Western Austin area.   It also controls the water level of Lake Austin
(More like a river to me) where many homes are built along its banks.  Above the Dam, Lake Travis allows a large recreational lake for fishing and boating that is more than 80 miles long.

The kids each had a camera with a fresh roll of film, and had fun taking pictures of whatever they thought was interesting.

I also took them over to the Lower Water Crossing Road - which is more of an access road to the other side of the Freeway we were under was unavailable.

After a Steak dinner that evening, we all watched Jackie Chan's First Strike on DVD, and prepared for The New Year!

Victoria was not awake.  She fell asleep earlier and was not ready to get back up...
